Map Matching API

Match GPS data to the road network

The Maptoolkit Map Matching API is a powerful feature of our Routing API that allows you to precisely match any recorded route (GPX, KML, or GeoJSON file) to the underlying road network. Our map matching functionality utilizes the same technology as the Routing API, making it possible to match routes for car, bike, and foot travel modes.

By enabling turn-by-turn navigation with detailed instructions for recorded routes, our Map Matching API provides a valuable tool that would otherwise be unavailable, as there is typically no information about intersections and road changes included in recorded routes.

In summary, the Maptoolkit Map Matching API is a robust solution for precisely matching recorded routes to the underlying road network and enabling turn-by-turn navigation with detailed instructions. With support for various travel modes, our Map Matching API provides a valuable tool to enrich your data or improve your software's functionality.

The Map Matching API is currently not available via request based pricing. It is however part of Maptoolkit Enterprise. Details see Maptoolkit Pricing.

Example

Test our map matching by uploading any GPX, KML or GEOJSON file or simply draw a route by closing the dialog and clicking on the map.
